Application and Admission
You can be accepted into the one-year pre-IB programme if:
- You live up to the same criteria needed to get accepted in stx.
- You have a high level of knowledge of both spoken and written English and can read relatively difficult academic texts.
Pre-Ib can in certain cases be replaced by one year's study at an English-speaking school.
Before You Apply
IB is a demanding education, both academically and personally, and it is important that you are aware of the fact that all teaching takes place in English. Therefore, it is a good idea to consider the following before you apply:
- Why do you wish to take the IB-Diploma?
- Can you deal with the high academic demands?
- Are you very good at English?
How do you apply?
You must send the following to Grenaa Gymnasium:
- A regular application form for Ungdomsuddannelserne 2010
- A pre-IB application form
- A copy of your grades
- An Educational plan
On the regular application form you must write that pre-IB is your first priority. Also, you must write which school you wish to go to, in case you don't get accepted in the IB-Diploma.
In your educational plan you must describe why you wish to get accepted in pre-IB and your reasons for choosing the international IB-Diploma.
Deadline for Applications
The deadline for applications is March 15.
In April a letter will be sent to you telling you whether you have been accepted or not. You may also be asked to come to the school and take an entry exam.
What's the cost of IB?
Tuition is free, but as in stx you will be asked to buy dictionaries, calculators and a few other necessary materials.
